Is Website Down? Check If a Site Is Up

Test if a website is down for everyone or just you. Live HTTP probe from DevHelm's monitoring infrastructure.

Frequently Asked Questions

We send a real HTTP request to the URL you provide from DevHelm's monitoring infrastructure in the US East region. If the server responds with a valid HTTP status code, the site is considered reachable. This tells you whether the site is down globally, not just from your location.

Common causes: your ISP is blocking the domain, DNS hasn't propagated to your resolver yet, your local network has a firewall rule, the site is geo-blocking your region, or there's a routing issue between your ISP and the site's hosting provider.

This is a one-time snapshot check. Continuous monitoring (like DevHelm) checks your sites every 30 seconds from multiple global regions, alerts you the moment something goes down, and tracks historical uptime for SLA reporting.

5xx codes (500, 502, 503, 504) indicate server-side failures. Connection timeouts and DNS resolution failures also mean the site is unreachable. 4xx codes (403, 404) mean the server responded but the specific page has an issue — the site itself is technically up.
