As of 6:53 PM ET, AWS has completed the restoration of the cloud services that were malfunctioning. The key components that were impacting Pearl are now operating normally. We are are closing out this incident.
AWS reports that engineers are continuing to work on a fix (http://health.aws.amazon.com/). The impact to Pearl TMS continues to appear minimal, with only slightly higher application response latency than usual (+100ms -- a tenth of a second more). HiLink and Lessonspace classrooms are continuing to operate. We are continuing to monitor user experience and the AWS progress towards resolution.
No change from previous update. We are continuing to monitor user experience and AWS progress towards resolution.
Early this morning Amazon Web Services (AWS), began experiencing an issue affecting their systems. Pearl, like thousands of other companies, relies on AWS for their cloud infrastructure. The incident is being actively worked by AWS engineers (http://health.aws.amazon.com/) The issue is resulting in unpredictable impacts to response times on Pearl, and had previously affected the availability of our third party virtual classrooms, Lessonspace and HiLink. Currently, Pearl is functioning normally, including the virtual classrooms, but because of the nature of the incident it’s possible we’ll see additional latency or issues until the incident is fully resolved. We’re closely monitoring our users’ experience and will continue to update our status page.
